Program :

DAY 01    -            Arrive into Kuching

Upon arrival, you will be met at Kuching International Airport and transferred to the hotel.

DAY 02 -               Half day city tour  – Duration: 3 hours

A 'must see' introduction to sarawak, this charming, green and airy city offers a mixed of well preserved British Colonial Buildings and graceful modern architecture. Considered as one of the South East Asia’s most pleasant cities, life still unfurls at a leisurely pace for the multi-ethnic population. The usual tour will bring visitors past the main attractions such as the Chinesetown, Chinese History Museum, Colonial Centre and the Cat Monument . You will walk along India Street and the Main Bazaar where the early Chinese Traders have set up their typical "Shophouses". Visit the oldest Chinese Temple in town where devotees pray for prosperity and the Sarawak Handicraft Centre to see the craftsmen at work. At the Kuching Waterfront, you will take a sampan crossing the Sarawak River to visit  Historical Fort Margherita (now Police Museum) and stop at one of the Malay houses for tea. Ascend the Civic Center Tower to have a bird's eye view of Kuching. Learn the history and culture of Sarawak at the renowned Sarawak Museum of ethnology. This city with a romantic history has many treasures to be discovered.

Back to the hotel after the tour.  Rest of day, free at leisure.

DAY 03-                Kuching – Miri - Mulu                      

Transfer to the airport for flight to Miri and then connect flight to Mulu.

Morning, pick up from your hotel and transfer to the airport to board flight to Mulu National Park. Upon arrival, transfer and check in Royal Mulu Resort. Afternoon, depart for a three KM plankwalk to Deer Cave and Lang Cave. En route visit the canopy skyway. See the rainforest and wildlife 100 feet below you. Late afternoon, observe the millions of bats coming out from the vast mouth of the Deer Cave which will be a memorable occurrence during fine weather. Return to Resort. Afternoon, free at leisure and

Day 04-                 Mulu National Park

Depart by a long boat going up river to Wind Cave via Penan settlement. Explore the limestone formation of this unique eco system. Continue the journey by plankwalk to Clearwater Cave where more interesting stone formation can be seen. Rajah Brooke butterflies can be seen hovering at the river and entrance of the caves. Return to and overnight resort. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)

Day 05   Mulu National Park / Kota Kinabalu

Transfer to Mulu airport for flight back to Kota Kinabalu. (Breakfast included)

What to bring : Raincoat, sun block lotion, drinking water, hat, insect repellent, torch, toiletries, towel and other items of personal use. Use good walking shoes. Comfortable cotton T-shirt with long or short pant recommended.

DAY 06 -               Half day city tour  – Duration: 3 hours
Tour commences with a drive to signal Hill for a bird’s eye view of Kota Kinabalu, We will make a photo stop at the Wisma Tun Mustapha (formerly known as Sabah Foundation Building) which was built in 1977. It is a magnificent building with 30-storey tower block, and is one of the few buildings in the world that utilize a single column structure.  Other scenic places to visit include the Atkinson Clock Tower, the State Mosque with it’s gold inlaid onion dome, known to be the largest dome of it’s type in Malaysia, and the State Museum been built in 1985. The museum has a collection on history of Sabah, an exhibitions galleries, and models of traditional houses representing the many ethnic communities of Sabah. Other visits include the Chinese Buddhist Temple with a huge statue of Kuan Yin and finally the handcraft center for souvenir to bring home

Back to the hotel after the tour.  Rest of day, free at leisure.

Day 07                   Kota Kinabalu – Sepilok Orang utan

Early morning, pick up from your hotel in Kota Kinabalu and transfer to the airport for a short domestic flight to Sandakan. Upon arrival, transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Centre. Witness the feeding of the orphaned orang utans. Walk along a jungle trail and observe the tropical lowland rainforest. Numerous wildlife may be seen. After lunch, proceed to the Observation Pavilion for a bird eye view of Sandakan. Proceed to the Central Market where produce from the hinterland and fresh seafood are on sale here. The market is also the focal point for socialising among the locals. Drive up to the Chinese Temple located on a hill where you can see the colourful interior decoration of this magnificient temple with a commanding view. Continue the journey to St. Michael's Church where Christianity is preached. Drive to Sim Sim where you can see houses on stilt above the water occupied by local tribes. After the tour, check in hotel.

Day 08-                    Sandakan / Gomantong Cave / River Trip

Morning, transfer from your hotel in Sandakan to Gomantong Caves by road. Explore the biggest bird's nest caves in Sabah. Continue the journey to Sukau by the Kinabatangan River. Check in Sukau River Lodge. Boat trip to watch the curious proboscis monkeys gather by the river bank. A good chance to see numerous species of birds and other wildlife until nightfall. Dinner. Slide show. If weather permits, night walk to search for stick insects, frog and beetles.

(If you are joining this tour from Kota Kinabalu by the first flight, we will pick you up at Sandakan airport to join this tour).

Day 09-                 Ox-bow Lake / Nature Trail

At 0600hrs, breakfast, thereafter take another boat trip, this time, to the ox-bow lakes. Birds abound in all shapes and forms. The lakes are the abode of freshwater fish, otters and sometimes - wild elephants may be sighted. Trek in the riverine rainforest and return to the Lodge. After lunch, follow our nature trails to see more wildlife. Dinner.

Day 10                   Sukau / Sandakan

After breakfast, return to Sandakan airport. (Breakfast included
